APOD Turns Eleven

The Astronomy Picture of the Day turns eleven years old today. It really is a great site, with one new photo every day. They've shown stars being born, shots of Mars, the Earth at night time, the Aurora Borealis and even the occasional observatory. APoD is one of my daily must-reads - thankyou NASA!

All they need now is an RSS feed...

It always amazes me how wide spread APOD has gotten. Good to see it getting props outside of the science and education areas. I work at Goddard and work with one of the guys who runs APOD. We put out a CD every year that has all the images (and descriptions) for the entire year. If you're interested give me a shout (jdmyers at gmail dot com) and I can see about getting you one. We might even have some past year's CDs around.
Although they don't have their own RSS feed (yet) there is one available at http://www.jwz.org/cheesegrater/RSS/apod.rss that works rather well.
