for me too it looks like a pretty useful script. But i must admit that i'm little lost at the moment (english isn't my mother tongue). In fact i was seeking for something like that to valid some comments on my blogs. My problem is that i would like a validation before saving.

Hi Rory,

Thanks for the comment. The reason I've use this technique is partly because it is what I've used in other outbut buffering related tutorials on this site and partly because I've always believed that explicitly stating things, like the ending of output buffering, makes for better programming.

However, you make a very good point. There is no harm, certainly, in using an output callback function, and I'd encourage readers to consider doing so.

This looks like a pretty useful piece of code. It does however seem to require reading every part of it to be able to make use of it. Why not make use of the ob_start handler function?

Basicly wrap all the functionality into one function, and call ob_start('function_name')
